Code Blue explores the devastating impact this disease has had on four families and they ways in which lung cancer deaths can be reduced.

    Code Blue for Lung Cancer a powerful documentary served as the centerpiece the awareness campaign. The messages helped to spread the life-saving message that as a nation, we must do more to raise awareness about the number-one cancer killer lung cancer. Code Blue explores the devastating impact of this disease on four families and how lung cancer deaths can be reduced. Early detection is vital, and since 85% of lung cancer diagnoses are smoking-related, quitting is critical. This project was developed for the American Legacy Foundation and disseminated in partnership with the National Association of Broadcasters in 2006 and 2007. The campaign included:
  • Capitol Hill launch with 66 members of Congress
  • Television broadcast on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, and UNIVISION affiliates
  • Station guide for programmers
  • Bites and b-roll (BBR) packages for news stations reached 54 markets
  • Public Service Announcements (PSAs)
  • English- and Spanish-language audio for broadcast and BBRs
